We had already mentioned the few doubts and reserves we had about a potential DDoS attack by Phantom Squad against the PSN and Xbox Live.  Indeed, by announcing a maintenance period going from November 11th to December 25th, the hyperbole made us quite skeptical about the likeliness of the threats, especially upon recalling the many false alarms that happened at the end of the year 2015.

Thank you Donald Trump?

Finally, it comes as no surprise to us that Phantom Squad announced on Twitter that the attacks won’t actually happen. Why might that be ? According to them, the lost a bet. They apparently bet that if Donald Trump were to win the election against Hilary Clinton, they would cancel the attack. A few hours after that, Hilary Clinton was calling Trump to congratulate him on his victory and Phantom Squad announced the cancellation of their attack.

Evidence of their frailty, perhaps? We won’t know much more for now, but we will definitely keep you informed of any other threats on the online platforms. Finally, Phantom Squad twitter account says that although the attacks are cancelled, it does not mean there won’t be any by the end of 2016.  Show-offs?

The release of the PS4 Pro will not be bothered by a DDoS attack!
