The Last Guardian Postponed for the umpteenth time

Gran Turismo and Final Fantasy XV will sadly not be the only games that will be postponed. The Last Guardian just joined the club of the games that stood players up. The latest from Team Ico won’t arrive on October 25th, as scheduled, but rather on December 7th.  For any game, this small delay would have been considered forgiven, but for the  tumultuous history that binds hopeful players with The Last Guardian, it hardly feels like a tender stroke on the cheek. As for the reason of this  delay, Shuei Yoshida explains via a post on the Playstation Blog:

Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN and JAPAN Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long. A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.

Sony knows that The Last Guardian is one of the most-anticipated game and does seem to feel about it. It seems like the burden of guilt is to be put on some persistent glitches here and there, another optional reason could be the recent unveiling of the PS4 Pro that could have prolonged the game-making phase. It is not excluded that The Last Guardian may benefit from a 4K/HDR patch for PS4 Pro owners… Anyway, The last Guardian will be available on December 7th 2016, that’s of course if it’s not postponed again …
