Yesterday, Sony unveiled the PS4 Pro during the Playstation Meeting. The new console is set to be more powerful and to be the first in the breed to be in 4K and HDRI. Following the announcement, a lot of you have asked us the real change that the PS4 Pro can bring to the table. Here is a complete breakdown of the specs of the PS4 Pro which release is scheduled on November 10th 2016 for 399 euros, just like the PS4 in 2013.

HDRI AND 4K for the Pro

It would be untrue to say that the transition between PS4 pro and the PS4 Slim was clear. As a matter of fact, it was so blurry that some of you thought that the PS4 slim was going to carry the 4K and HDRI capacities. This confusion caused us to write this article, in hope that you will find in it all the information you need on the PS4 pro:

  • The PS4 Pro will be able to play games and videos in 4K and HDRI
  • It will be usable on HDTV’s as well as 4K tv’s, HDRI compatible or no.
  • 1080/60 fps videostreaming will be available, as well as screenshots in 4K.
  • All the games will work on both models of the PS4
  • Obviously, the games will have a better rendering on PS4 Pro in 1080p, more fluid or in 4K on a 4K TV
  • Same version of the PSN will run on both machines
  • The PS4 pro controller that comes in the box has been slightly revised
  • PSVR games will have better graphics / more fluid on PS4 pro
  • The PS4 pro will not be featuring a blu-ray 4K player
  • 1 To hard-drive
