Did you buy anything from GameStop between September 2016 and February 2017 ? Then take a look at your bank accounts ! Two sources from fiancial inductry has informed Krebsonsecurity about beeing received alerts from cards processors. According to what, card numbers, dates and CVV number (3-digit code behing credit card). Also come with that, informations such as customer names and adresses.
After KrebsonSecuirty contacted GameStop, they declare to have have launched an investigation on this fraudulent attack while also adding:
GameStop recently received notification from a third party that it believed payment card data from cards used on the GameStop website was being offered for sale on a website, a representative stated. That day, a leading security firm was engaged to investigate these claims.
Gamestop has and will continue to work non-stop to address this report and take appropriate measures to eradicate any issue that may be identified. We regret any concern this situation may cause for our customers.
